Give the market its own plan before close-out.
Follow this one complete task before entering your own records. Keep the blank original and save a working copy.
Select the saved E-01 plan.
Market plan selects E-01. Its saved event budget is EUR 40 costs, 6 hours and a 5% selling fee. Forecast P-01 is 15 units at EUR 12, with EUR 4 unit cost. Changing event selection retrieves that event’s records.
Inspect Market planCompare forecast and records.
The supplied fictional plan gives EUR 71 after fees, stock and event costs. Recorded E-01 gives EUR 30 after actual sales, fees, stock, damage and event costs. Sales/expenses use the cut-off; stock/damage/hours reflect entered close-out.
Inspect Event ReviewChange the assumption, preserve history.
In a working copy, change planned price E104 to EUR 14. Planned result becomes EUR 99.50; recorded result remains EUR 30. Revert this disposable change. Reconcile stock physically before treating the event result as final.

RECORDED WORKBOOK / FOLLOW EACH CHANGE
Follow a real workbook decision.
Recorded worksheet images, not an online editor. These fictional steps use a disposable copy of the supplied example. Every change is stated beside its result.
All 3 recorded steps are shown below.
STEP 01 / FICTIONAL WORKING COPY
Save quantities and price assumptions.
The supplied E-01 forecast expects 15 P-01 units at EUR 12, with EUR 4 unit cost. The saved event budget adds EUR 40 event costs, 6 hours and a 5% selling fee. Inputs are saved by ID, not reused when selection changes.

STEP 02 / FICTIONAL WORKING COPY
Compare with the complete event.
Planned sales EUR 180 minus EUR 9 fees, 60 stock and 40 event costs gives EUR 71. Recorded result is EUR 30 after damage too. Products without a forecast still remain in the recorded event result.

STEP 03 / FICTIONAL WORKING COPY
Change the plan without rewriting a sale.
In a disposable copy, change planned price to EUR 14. Planned result becomes EUR 99.50; recorded result remains EUR 30. Sales/expenses use the cut-off; stock, damage, returns and hours are undated close-out snapshots.

- 01
Save the assumptions with the event
You enterCreate an event budget and a product forecast for each chosen product. Enter deliberate zero where a known amount is zero.
CalculatedMarket plan sums product forecasts and subtracts event costs once. Recorded sources stay independent; invalid records block recorded outputs.
Your next stepReview the planned result and coverage. After the day, reconcile stock and compare against the recorded result, including products without forecasts.
- 02
Prepare the stand
You enterCreate a valid event, then link each Market Prep task or material to its Event ID. Enter an owner, due date, manual confirmation and the applicable packing quantities.
CalculatedThe E-01 example has three preparation items: two Ready and one Overdue. Packing all 20 paper bags makes that third item ready, provided its confirmation remains valid.
Your next stepReview every warning and pending action. Readiness describes the list you entered; it does not check a venue or confirm a task for you.
- 03
Record the stock and actual sales
You enterUse one Stock row per event/product. Record units taken, returned and damaged with historical cost. Sales separately records gross units, refunds, receipts and selling fees.
CalculatedST-01 takes 20 units, returns nine and records one damaged. SL-01 sells 12 and refunds two: ten net units sold, EUR 120 net sales and zero stock difference.
Your next stepResolve stock differences before relying on profit. Equipment quantities in Market Prep do not alter sale stock.
- 04
Review the actual result
You enterRecord actual event expenses and hours. Keep a cancelled event and any non-refundable costs in the record.
CalculatedE-01 has net sales 120 less fees 6, stock consumed 40, damage 4 and expenses 40: profit 30, or 5 per actual hour. E-02 retains cancelled cost 15, giving dashboard period profit 15.
Your next stepCompare events on recorded results. Product contribution and event profit answer different questions; neither is a forecast of earnings.
- 05
Confirm the equipment return
You enterAfter the event, update Returned qty in Market Prep for each material whose Return expected is Yes. Keep tasks and consumable supplies separate.
CalculatedTwo of three packed display trays are returned in the example, so Return state says Check return. Recording the third tray clears only that check.
Your next stepPhysically confirm the return and save your workbook. The return check does not book an expense, change financial stock or synchronise Inventory.

Before you choose
Fit and practical limits.
- A maker taking finished products to craft fairs
- a small seller comparing market weekends.
Understand the boundaries.
- 60 events; 100 products; 150 event/product stock records; 300 sales records; 200 expense records; 150 preparation records.
- One currency. Manual receipts and historical costs; no POS, barcode, tax, payment collection, accounting or marketplace integration.
- Refunded units are treated as reusable stock. Record non-reusable units in damaged stock. Review stock differences before trusting profit.
- A returned unsold unit is not an expense; current list price never reprices a recorded sale. Event hours are manually entered actual hours.
- Equipment and supplies in Market Prep do not change sale stock or profit. Readiness needs manual confirmation; there are no automatic venue requirements or reminders.
- Native Excel verification pending.
- Planned sales assume entered quantities sell at entered prices, without refunds or damage. Event-cost coverage holds the planned mix constant. Sales/expenses use a date cut-off; stock, returns, damage and hours are undated entered close-out snapshots, not a historical reconstruction.
Desktop spreadsheet software is separate. Native Excel verification remains pending; Google Sheets and Numbers support has not been established.
Questions about this workbook
The details that affect your choice.
Can I compare a forecast with what the market earned?
Yes. Market plan saves budgets by Event ID and forecasts by event/product with manual price and cost snapshots. Editing those assumptions or current Products prices cannot reprice historical Sales. Recorded results include products without forecasts. Sales/expenses use the cut-off; stock, damage, returns and hours are entered undated close-out snapshots. Missing plans are not zero; fix source and plan warnings separately.
How do I know what to edit?
Blue cells accept records. Grey cells contain formulas. Begin with the separate fictional example and follow START_HERE.pdf. Each register has visible input checks.
Can I add unlimited rows?
No. Capacities are fixed and listed sheet by sheet. Adding rows requires extending formulas, validation and review ranges; it is not a supported automatic expansion.
Does the file send my records anywhere?
No macros or external connections are supplied. Your spreadsheet application and cloud-storage settings are separate.
