Practical guide / Maker Pricing & Order Profit Workbook 1.0
Does this price cover the product, your time and the selling fees?
A material pack price is not a product cost. A quoted margin is not the profit of an order already sold. This workbook connects usable pack quantities and a recipe to a current quote, while historical orders retain the actual amounts you entered.
Your first useful result: Follow one pouch from a recipe into a quote and an actual order. Follow the first task
Build the unit cost
Register materials by usable pack quantity, then link them to the product recipe.
Material quantities, labour minutes, packaging and overhead become base cost.
Review: Confirm units and resolve missing or duplicate IDs.
Quote the order
Choose a product, units, discount, variable and flat selling fees, and target contribution margin.
The quote solves the required after-discount price and before-discount asking price.
Review: Check the assumptions against your actual channel before agreeing a price.
Record the actual result
Enter historical order sales, refunds, costs and fees once in Orders.
Monthly results use actual entered totals through your chosen review date.
Review: Compare the result with your quote without rewriting history when current costs change.
Check the assumptions.
- 100 materials, 100 products, 500 recipe lines and 200 order records. One currency; no conversion.
- Amounts are net of tax. Selling fees, labour assumptions and historical actuals are entered by you; no marketplace fee lookup or tax calculation.
- A current quote uses current material and product costs. Orders retain entered historical costs; they do not update when a material price changes.
- Contribution is after the entered selling fees. Margin and markup use different denominators; neither is a tax or accounting profit measure.
- No stock depletion, purchasing, ecommerce connection, receipt capture or bookkeeping automation.
- Native Excel verification remains pending. Resolve input warnings before reading the calculated views.
Keep a copy you can return to.
Keep the supplied clean and example files unchanged. Save your own working file with a useful name, such as maker-pricing-2027-home.xlsx, and keep a dated backup before a large edit. A purchased ZIP is the blank source, not a backup of your entries.
If an input or formula is replaced
Undo the edit while it is still available, or return to a known good backup. If you need a fresh clean file, transfer only your records into its marked input cells and follow the setup guide again. Do not paste whole sheets over the supplied formulas, validations or reference lists. Check IDs, units, dates and linked results against the example before relying on the copy.
When the supplied rows are full
100 products · 100 materials · 200 order records. Calculation ranges and validations have fixed capacities. A new row below a table does not prove that every linked result includes it.
For a separate period, project or volume, preserve the old workbook and start a named clean copy. If records must carry forward, record exactly which inputs you transfer, preserve their references and compare the opening and closing figures. Avoid copying historical activity as both an opening amount and a new movement. There is no automatic migration between files.
Inspect the workbook before you choose.
