The everyday problem

Which confirmed vehicle tasks and documents need reviewing?

Use your manufacturer or qualified provider’s intervals, dated odometer readings and actual completed work to calculate the next date and distance threshold. Keep costs and verified document dates alongside. The rule begins at 10,000 km on 01 Jan. A later recorded service at 12,000 km on 01 Jul advances a six-month / 5,000 km interval. The current reading is dated; the workbook does not extrapolate it.

Review dated service and document records against the explicit review date and recorded odometer.

Set a review date and period. Enter current readings yourself; nothing reads the vehicle.

Keep a dated odometer reading with its km or mile unit and vehicle status.

Enter a confirmed interval and source. The latest valid service resets the next date and distance.

Record completed service, its actual date, reading, unit and paid cost.

Keep fuel, parking and other paid costs separate from service-log spending.

Record a confirmed document deadline and where the original is kept.

Check the next confirmed date and odometer threshold against the dated reading.

Review paid service and other costs by month without counting the service cost twice.

Read how vehicle IDs, confirmed rules, service records and units fit together.

    1. Read the current vehicle record

Vehicles V-01 has a 15,200 km reading dated 8 October 2026. Service rule SR-01 uses a fictional confirmed interval of six months or 5,000 km.

      Inspect Vehicles
    2. Find the completed service

Service Log SL-01 links to SR-01: completed 1 July 2026 at 12,000 km, with 90.00 paid. This valid record replaces the earlier baseline for that rule.

      Inspect Service Log
    3. Compare the next date and distance

Due Review SR-01 shows 1 January 2027 and 17,000 km. The dated reading is 1,800 km below that threshold. This is a record comparison; obtain real intervals from your vehicle’s confirmed instructions.

Vehicles V-01 has a 15,200 km reading dated 8 October 2026. Service rule SR-01 uses a fictional confirmed interval of six months or 5,000 km.

      Copy confirmed service rules

      You enter

Enter intervals only from the actual manufacturer or qualified provider. Set a baseline completion date and reading. Leave an unused interval blank. At least one interval is needed.

      Calculated

Service Log SL-01 links to SR-01: completed 1 July 2026 at 12,000 km, with 90.00 paid. This valid record replaces the earlier baseline for that rule.

      Your next step

Open Service Log and compare the linked reference with the records above.

    3. 03

      Log actual work

      You enter

Link completed work to the rule ID. The latest valid entry through the review date replaces the rule baseline for its next due calculation. Changing an interval changes the next estimate, never historical paid amounts.

      Calculated

Due Review SR-01 shows 1 January 2027 and 17,000 km. The dated reading is 1,800 km below that threshold. This is a record comparison; obtain real intervals from your vehicle’s confirmed instructions.

      You enter

Due Review shows next date, next odometer and separate due flags. A dated reading is shown alongside the distance result. Documents records dates you verify yourself. Monthly separates servicing from other costs.
