Practical guide / Multi-Pet Records & Costs Workbook 1.0

One clear record for each pet, visit and handover.

Keep profiles, actual visits, owner-confirmed routines and costs connected by Pet ID. Review confirmed next dates and prepare a handover using instructions supplied by the owner or professional.

Your first useful result: Start with one connected record. Follow the first task

Create one profile

Enter a Pet ID, name, species and the reference to the owner-confirmed contact details.

Linked records and input checks use the same stable IDs; review the labelled calculated cells.

Review: Keep the source record and the review together.

Record the real visit

Add actual visit date and cost. Record a next date only when it has been confirmed by the provider.

Prepare a handover

Write the owner-confirmed routine, dates and responsible person. The handover is a record, never medical advice.

Check the assumptions.

  • Save a working copy first. Manual entry; no automatic sync or external connections.
  • Fixed supplied capacities: extend formulas, tables and validations before adding more rows.
  • Use one currency; currency labels do not convert money. No accounting or professional advice.
  • Resolve input warnings before using summaries. Blank means unknown; enter 0 for a known zero.
  • Organisation only: no diagnosis, treatment recommendation, dose calculation, health score or emergency instructions. Follow your veterinarian.
  • Next visit dates and routine instructions are supplied and confirmed by the owner or professional. Mark an obsolete next-date record Superseded yourself; another visit does not automatically cancel it.
  • Costs records exclude visit costs to avoid double counting. Do not enter a visit payment twice.

Keep a copy you can return to.

Keep the supplied clean and example files unchanged. Save your own working file with a useful name, such as multi-pet-records-2027-home.xlsx, and keep a dated backup before a large edit. A purchased ZIP is the blank source, not a backup of your entries.

If an input or formula is replaced

Undo the edit while it is still available, or return to a known good backup. If you need a fresh clean file, transfer only your records into its marked input cells and follow the setup guide again. Do not paste whole sheets over the supplied formulas, validations or reference lists. Check IDs, units, dates and linked results against the example before relying on the copy.

When the supplied rows are full

25 pets · 300 visits · 150 routine handover · 500 costs. Calculation ranges and validations have fixed capacities. A new row below a table does not prove that every linked result includes it.

For a separate period, project or volume, preserve the old workbook and start a named clean copy. If records must carry forward, record exactly which inputs you transfer, preserve their references and compare the opening and closing figures. Avoid copying historical activity as both an opening amount and a new movement. There is no automatic migration between files.

Inspect the workbook before you choose.
